CHAMPIONING GENDER MAINSTREAMING

At the heart of IEWM, Gender mainstreaming is an integral dimension of our institutional
development and of every intervention. IEWM believes that Gender and Social Inclusion
(GESI) are prerequisites for inclusive sustainable development and crucial in building a
sustainable and just world. We strive to ensure that women and men can equally
access, participate and benefit from development initiatives and institutional
strengthening for gender equality mainstreaming. We have supported gender analytical
studies, the integration of gender and social issues in climate change and water
management. Additionally, we support advocacy programs and conduct gender
research at the national, regional and international levels.
